Anthony Z Starks Check out this video. What do you think about the Wachowski Brothers, I thought they would have been a better pick for Ghost in the shell, specifically for the action sequences. Or maybe the Nolan brothers if its story focused. Or better they could have selected a Japanese director who fuses manga or anime style into their films. Chances are they wouldnt have the creative freedom they would want, from Hollywood. But there are a handful of Hollywood directors they could of chosen. But Im with you man, I dont think you could capture the true beauty of Ghost in the Shell by adapting it into a live action film; no matter how big the budget, or who the director is, and who the actors are. But if they were serious and wanted to give some justice, then they would spend a year or two at least on pre-production and make sets! Instead relying on too much green screen. Although green screen will be needed. George Lucass last star stars films or the movie Suckerpunch directed by Zack Snyder, was a good reason why you shouldnt. But yeah get actors that are passionate enough to understand the context of the film and sub-text of the characters. The visual effects would be unique and like nothing we have seen on a live action. Even the transitional editing, would be difficult.
