Anti-Missionary Law -- or Bill 5738-1977 as it is technically known -- which was passed by the Israeli Knesset on December 25, 1977. Based on this law, if the Israeli government chooses to enforce it, a Christian can face up to a five-year prison term if he or she endeavors to convert a Jewish person to Christianity. If there is any evidence that any form of persuasion was used, the person accused will find it even more difficult to not be found "guilty". In fact, even distributing Christian Gospel tracts will attract the ire of Orthodox Jewish authorities.
