Anticipation was very high for a very celebrated restaurant called "The House" in Chiang Mai last night. It came highly recommended! Upon arrival, we were charmed by the ambiance and menu selection. Colorful outside seating - perfect for our last day in this old town. It was the RAT that spoiled the moment. There was a small opening under the door into the restaurant and when I glanced around, from my select outside seat, I noticed a rat slipping under the door into the restaurant. It danced around the floor of the inside seating area and was unnoticed! My appetite waned quickly and I was glad to leave "The House". I must qualify, however, that the food in this country has been outstanding and for those of you wise crackers out there, NO - I have not sampled rodents, insects, or any animals that we domesticate at home. / Now heading to the beach for final few days and looking forward to some FINE dining.
