Antidote For Muslim Terror Yesterday I found myself with a small team of Christians for the Portland Oregon area going out from the four walls of the Church. Ironically, we ended up in a region of Portland which had a high density of Muslim faith and culture. As a group we faced many obstacles including language barriers, however we received a great education on the love of God. The Muslim people we naturally hesitant because of our Christian faith but as we continued to share the love of Jesus Christ you could see the walls of prejudice and fear begin to come down. Muslim families had many needs mainly because of poverty and God was reaching out through a mobilized Church to meet their needs right where they lived. You could feel the spiritual warfare over Muslims relating to their rejection being identified with terrorism and a defensive posture. They would declare we are Muslim and would just continue to offer prayer and blessing. In effect the Holy Spirit was breaking down the demonic strategy by not letting us enter into the political religious debate. The Holy Spirit was wanting to pour out His blessing on them just the same as any other peoples. Should I fear the Muslim peoples and miss the opportunity the Lord is presenting because of the spirit of terror? Eventually, as our grouped prayed for some physical healings some miracles happened. In the short time span three Muslim families opened their doors for us to pray for the Christian faith. One family was from Somalia, another from Iran, and another from Turkey. All these families identified themselves as Muslim but as we prayed for the Kingdom of Heaven to manifest to them and shared the gospel of the Kingdom the Holy Spirit meet them in a supernatural way. In the end the Lord demonstrated its time for the Church to face the spirit of terror with the Holy Spirit. Worldwide the Church can make a difference if Christians dont fall into the political trap of identifying Muslims with terrorism. Our battle is with demonic spirits which hate all of mankind and murderous people do not represent the whole of that people group. America alone murders more of its own citizens on a daily basis than any country in the world. American Christians need to love the Muslim people of this country and share the gospel right in their own cities. As Christians if we just loved and met the needs of the Muslim communities in our own backyards a huge difference could result. America lets get out of fear and politics and back to walking in the power of the Kingdom and make disciples of all nations.
