Antler Cove will NEVER be the same again, without that special presence and frequent visitor in our home. :( Like some of Bobs partners, Cousin Didi had a special knock on the door and we always knew it was him knocking & coming to visit. :D Its been both an honor & a pleasure to have had Cousin Didi Godfrey Williams in our lives for all these years.... so many memories...so many special moments... how can we sum it up in one posting... Didi was a wonderful Husband & a proud Father...he was gentle, kind, generous, thoughtful, funny, hard working... loved his sports... loved to banter... had the Raven cheekiness...loved to socialize with friends... He was a true Traditionalist... a powerful Haida dancer...a food gatherer...berry picker... Naaw danger....Clam danger... Kaaw danger... Didi had a smile that lit up his face and a hearty laugh that reached your soul. :D He was an avid sports fan & loved to share the latest events with his partners and even do some bantering with their Children... Didi even made the Football Bruiser award in the football pool, one he dreaded being teased over! Many family & friends have been at the receiving end of Didis generous spirit. Robert & I are so grateful for his true friendship and his Brotherly spirit... Didis off-island trips usually brought everything from Tim Horton coffee...Timbits... T-shirts... Canuck Memorabilia..C.Ds...candy Summertime always brought the big Berry-picking competition to see who picks the most!! Didi & family and our family loved berry-picking ....Didi always popped in after our backroad hunting trips to see how much huckleberries we got.. sometimes Robert would bs and say WAY more than we had and the huckleberry war was on! lol Didi was so happy to purchase a fancy plastic berry-picker a few years back. He couldnt wait to show it to Bob... so we had to pull out ours that my Mom bought us in AK, in the 80s and it was metal ! ahhh..old news, Pard! lol Didi loved berry-picking and loved his Jam, especially Blackberry Jam. :) Didi loved to go out for Octopus (Naaw) every big tide and he knew Robert was way too chicken to Naaw-dang, so we were always appreciative of Didis gifts.. We have always enjoyed being a part of Didis family B-day dinners and their lives... In Aug 2005, I injured my foot in a car accident and hobbled around in a cast until Oct... my Halloween house wasnt getting the decorations up & I was getting worried until Michelle , Didi, Ava-Beth, Bynn the Boots, Sadie came by to help me decorate it in time for trick or treaters and a tradition was formed until just a few years ago when the kids got too old to enjoy decorating.
