Anxiety from a Young Teens Perspective. Great share from our friend Ariana. Hi. im 13 and i have an anxiety disorder.. i just want to share my story.. i was in and out of doctors, hospitals, tests, etc etc.. well, my mom decided to take me to the emergency for further tests. the doctor asked what was wrong and i told him exactly what was wrong. id have moments where my heart started racing and i felt like i was in a small room. like i cant breathe. and id always feel nauseous.. i was so confused.. well i never put 2 & 2 together.. during all this, i was so stressed out about family problems, school work, choir issues, and so on.. the doctor pulled my mom outside and she came back in crying.! i was confused.. she said the doctor said i have anxiety and i have attacks because i keep everything locked up inside . well that night, my aunt was there also . we stayed in that hospital for literally 2 hours. talking over my problems. i felt like all the weight was lifted off my shoulders that night.. yes, i still have attacks, but never as bad as before.. so, lesson learned, if something is eating you up, let it out.!! whether a diary, journal, person, it dont matter.. just let it out.. it feels so much better.! i thought i was sick.!
