Any animal experts out there? Yesterday, I was driving to a meeting. It was raining hard. Real hard. As I exited the highway on a cloverleaf, I saw what appeared to be a huge rat on the road. I slowed down so as to not hit it. As I got closer, I noticed it had the body of a rat, but 12 - 14 long, with a long, thick black tail. Thick like a rats tail, not a squirrels. Weirdest thing was it had a head that looked like a squirrel. Really creepy looking, and not moving very fast. It was near a semi-flooded marsh area (cat tails, etc.) and looked to be moving towards it. I thought it might be a nutria, but when I looked them up, they dont look anything like this. Help?
