Any comments made by Dont Shoot Bats on Andrew Powells page are now hidden by his cowardly Facebook team. We had the temerity to note that Agricultural company Osprey was fined under the Nature Conservation Act for killing 52 Brolgas - and Minister Powell made a statement that Qld takes the safeguard of protected species very seriously. Yet when only a few Kilometers away a farmer poisoned 144 flying foxes (not only a protected species, but a threatened species) they took absolutely no action. When we asked for an explanation, all of our posts were hidden and have not reappeared. Not exactly open, responsible government. Surely the Minister should be held accountable for actions taken within his portfolio. Good on the pro-bat people for taking him to task on this notice (below) although we note that at this stage 5 of the 8 comments have been hidden.
