Any of you legal eagles know if this idea would work? Have a contract caveat that for the full salary to be paid, the level of play should be comparable to demonstrated ability to earn the contract in the first place--and a significant reduction in subsequent demonstrated performance be reflected in reduction in salary? (Theyd be making whats considered upper class money in any case.) If someone deliberately spikes, spears, or head-butts an opponent with intent to injure, that offenders salary be suitably reduced and given to the victim/victims team, in addition to the suspension, if any. I know statistics dont say everything, but neither are they mute. Yes, we all love Ray R, but this is not a charity. Lots of guys would love the chance, but cant if monies are tied up in a greatly reduced performer.
