Any short term spending bill, to get us into the next Congress, should include language to defund any of Obamas abuses of power through his unilateral actions to grant amnesty to illegal aliens. Whether you are against amnesty or for it, and you should be against it, we should all agree that this is something that only Congress has the power to do. No President should make these decisions and effectively legislate as the executive. Only the legislature should legislate, not the President and not the Supreme Court. Language defunding any executive action by the President in this regard can be included in a spending bill forcing the President to either fund government or if President Obama doesnt want to fund government, he can choose to shut it down. Lets be very clear, this is the Presidents decision, whether to follow the law, or whether to stop funding government. Republicans can not back down from this dangerous attempt to further expand, unconstitutionally, the executive branchs power. Any long term spending deal also removes our ability to fight the Presidents usurpation of power. Make sure your members of Congress are prepared to stand up for our constitutional system by not backing down from this important issue.
