Any time I tell anyone here that I have walked somewhere, it is as if I have told them that I punched an infant in the throat. That is the level of scandal that it seems to cause. It elicits looks of confusion, disdain and wonderment. One time it seemingly caused mild cardiac arrest. It is such a scandal that it is neighbourhood gossip. I just went to a restaurant and the manager told me that he had heard from his friend that I had walked there. I was the only person at the restaurant, which means someone had called him up to tell him this. On at least two occasions, strangers have insisted that I ride with them to prevent me from engaging in the scandalous walking activity. #RaggyRoad #Thailand
