Anybody want to see the Letter I wrote to UAMS about the care I - TopicsExpress

Anybody want to see the Letter I wrote to UAMS about the care I received while I was there? Well here it is anyway... To whom it may concern, My name is Vincent Paul Myrick (DOB 01-15-1963) On April 17th 2014 I had a serious but routine Vascular surgery, and landed in the care of the crew on the 8th floor. I stayed with you all until April 23, and was released to go home. I had some complications on April 30th and came into the ED and was admitted for another stay until May 6th 2014. So if my count is correct, of the past 20 days I have been in your care for 14 of those days. While I as away from you all, I developed some infection, including Pancreatitis, and some staples tore away from one of my incisions. Needless to say I was in a lot of discomfort on my return. I was immediately greeted with the same smiling faces I had been cared for the previous week after surgery. The Crew on duty began making me very comfortable in the most professional way I had ever witnessed anywhere. This same great care continued throughout my entire stay. It began the night of the 30th with Nurse Emily, whom I wondered if she was actually old enough to be out that late at night, but proved quickly to be a most competent and a very capable nurse. And Audry Fier who showed so much knowledge and compassion not only to me, but also to my wife who was a nervous wreck. It took Ms Audry no time at all to calm us both and show us that we were in the best hands we could be. Others who cared for me over the next few days were Kevin Miller, who when I had an accident with my bandages at 1am showed me that I and my problem were the center of his universe at that moment. He worked diligently until the problem was solved. Holly Hutchens and Elizabeth show me equally great care. The Patient Techs were as equally wonderful. performing their duties with huge smiles on their faces, and showing the utmost confidence, and know how. Megan, Monty, Tomdrika, Jimina, and Denise all worked tirelessly through the day and night to see that all my needs were met. The whole staff went above and beyond in my opinion to insure I had everything in their power to provide, and to comfort me. Always greeting me with a big beautiful smile, and the best care anyone could ask for. Not once did I hear a bad, or disparaging word come from any one of them. Even in witnessing the change over to a big EPIC new program that would have been intimidating to the strongest of anyone. This crew met the challenge head on and conquered it in just a few hours, and Began using the program with general ease, like it had been the norm for years. The way they helped each other learn this system alone should get them all a pat on the back. You as their supervisor, and everyone else in administration of this Hospital should be very proud to have such a crew as this on your team. I wish I could do more than just write this letter to you, but at this time it is the best I can do. My stay has been one of the most enjoyable ever. I only hope I did not cause too much trouble to them or hinder the care of other patients on the floor. For when it was my turn to get what I needed its seemed as if I was the only patient here, and I had their undivided attention. For all of this I am very grateful. I will never forget this and will always have all of these folks in my prayers from now on. I will pray that God in heaven will continue to guide the steps of care given to every patient they ever come into contact with from this day forward. And for you Maam I pray you will always have the best interest of these folks first. I believe if you do this it will all take care of itself and you all will take care of each other for many years to come. Thank you just doesnt seem to do it, but its all I have at this time. Sincerely, Vincent Paul Myrick 2701 west 58th street North Little Rock Arkansas 72118 501-218-3666
