Anybody who knows me, knows my passions in life (besides my family and friends) are food, music and little kids football. Not in that order. So as we start a new season, I have a little advice for all the young coaching geniuses out there. Make your system fit your kids, dont try to force your kids to do something they are not capable of. No system has ever won a football game, your kids do. This is a simple game, dont over think it. You teach them block. You teach them to tackle. They are not here to peak at 12 ,years old. Teach fundamentals. Get them ready for high school and beyond. Dont ever turn around on the sidelines and address the crowd. You want to shut them up. WIN! It cures everything. Those kids watch everything you say and do, everywhere you are. Dont be a hypocrite. Be what you want them to be. Be hard on them. The more you expect. The more they will give. Let them know when they achieve thier goals. Pick them up when they get knocked down. Then throw them back in the fight. Let them know that no matter what happens to them, you will never let them fight alone. Make sure they realize thier dreams,not yours. Last, but not least. Coaching these kids is a blessing from God. Make him proud.
