Anyone Governments perceive as a threat to their agenda is a terrorist. Journalists, whistle-blowers, & activists are increasingly being spied upon & threatened. Americans rights-especially Due Process & the Right to Privacy-are not protected by Congress or the Courts. The Kurds were considered terrorists by the US Government for decades because two of the nations they lived in-Iraq & Turkey-were allies. Now the Kurds in Iraq are allies because they cooperate with American interests-including oil companies & banks. Chechens are considered terrorists by Russia because they want independence. The same with Tibetans & Uyghurs who resist domination by the Peoples Republic of China. The toxic legacy of a century of American domination of Central America are nations without freedom, without diversified economies or middle classes, environmental destruction, & lawlessness. Why is Appalachia one of the poorest regions in the US despite the extraction of trillions of dollars of minerals, timber, & chemicals for over a century? The elite-often out of state-controlled the governments & the economy. Little investment was made in the education of the people, the development of independent centers of power, infrastructure, or the protection of peoples rights, Where US Corporations & the Government have the upper hand-they prefer to deal with an elite that acts as their proxy. They have a plantation mentality that sees people as a commodity-not as a resource. They arent interested in economic growth that doesnt benefit them or things like schools, public infrastructure, responsive government, human rights, or free markets. Why has the South in the US been so much poorer than the North for generations? A big factor is that when power is in the hands of a few-the investments that are made & the income that is generated benefit the few. Why is Cuba hated so much? The rest of Central America is no poster child for representative government or human rights. The people in Cuba have access to better healthcare & schools. This shames the greedy elite. US Corporate oppression in Central America continues to this day as the Drug Enforcement Agency is allowed to operate without accountability-while the Central Intelligence Agency has a legacy of facilitating the drug trade-including the introduction of crack cocaine to America during the Reagan administration. Its more than a rumor-see the evidence in the comments. Afghanistan is now a Narco state producing record amounts of opium-which the Taliban government had eradicated. Why? Whats worse is that the treatment Central America, the South, & Appalachia has gotten is now spreading as representative governance is weakening due to a system of legalized bribery, markets are controlled by cartels, the people who operate Americas businesses no longer have union representation so they cannot obtain a market price for their labor, independent institutions-like the media & political parties-are controlled by big corporations while Americans are stripped of their power, wealth, & rights. Principles NOT Parties
