Anyone else get what Theresa May is doing here in delaying the appointment of a chair for the establishment abuse enquiry. This is standard procedure for the establishment/governments/political classes. 1. A really damaging revelation threatens to damage the establishment (er...like Chilcott) 2. Kick it into the long grass, delay any outcome for years or as long as humanly possible. 3. People will be bored, worn down or have forgotten about it. You only have to watch The Thick of It or Yes Prime Minister. Oh and dont think May is just considering who to appoint, with CVs in her in tray. While May drags this out, the establishment is quietly doing their own investigations, speaking to witnesses, buying off evidence, doing there best to mitigate the outcome of the inquiry...in 5 years. People should be marching in the streets.
