Anyone else remember this set and this drummer? I think certain drum brands were popular in different areas of the country and Slingerland wasnt the company of choice in the Denver area back in the early 70s. Ludwig and Rogers pretty much ruled the roost around here. So, this was probably the first Slingerland set I ever saw live. 1973, I was 13 years old and went to the Alice Cooper Billion Dollar Babies show complete with full size Guillotine. Neal Smith was the drummer with his huge chrome set. After that, every other concert was downhill from there...Its kind of hard to top a guy still singing AFTER they chop his head off...lol When you say Slingerland most drummers think of Rich, Krupa, Belson and other jazz drummers but they rocked a lot of coliseums as well...
