Anyone ever had problems with Scottish Power (gas and electric). The customer service is unbelievable. Btw dont try to phone them. I have tried on a number of occasions to reach them, listened to their recordings for 25 mins or so and then gave up. When I moved in to my current home they zeroed the electric meter, absolutely fine. From the wrong day but thats another story....... The main problem although a simple one to solve, is that they did NOT zero the gas. I have asked them why ? They just ignore me.So I have not used any gas because I wanted to get this settled first. But S.P. charge £1.92 per week standing charge. So after 13 weeks when they are demanding £57.. I asked them by email because its impossible to talk, how they figure that 13 weeks at £1.92 equals £57? But they just wont answer. They have taken £40 plus from me so far although I only owed 13 x £1,92. I have told them I wish to instigate the complaints procedure but they ignore me. I have directly emailed C Keane at their Customer Servicebut no joy and I was hopeful with what I thought was going to be a helpful chap by the name of Prasenjit Singh in Customer Service ....... but again I am being ignored. I have told them that I will be lodging a complaint with Ombudsman but again they dont bother to reply. So I am currently paying £1.92 per week for something I cant use. If any other utility company agents would like to sign me up. I figure we will use in the region of 20-25 pounds per week when we know that the bill is correct (probably a similar amount on the electric). Anyone else having problems? Please share this as widely as possible in the UK. Although I am sure that Scottish Power really dont give a damn. Thanks everyone, Reg .
