Anyone have some knowledge to share with this mama? Xx Anon asks A while ago I asked for other mums opinions on my wee one (now 11 weeks old) who has had blood in her stools for the past 8 weeks now. I have been dairy free for 5 weeks, egg and soy free for 3 weeks and for the past week I have excluded wheat, dairy, soy, nuts, fish, shellfish and eggs with no improvements 😞 my little one just had scans yesterday to eliminate the possibility of Meckels Diverticulum, and when we went back to hospital the results were negative and the paediatrician wants to put her on neocate formula to ensure it is not dietary before they do any more invasive tests. Im absolutely devastated, I have to give her this formula which smells and tastes revolting (as it is special stuff that has all the amino acid chains broken down) and pump for the next week to maintain my supply incase there is no improvement and I can go back to breastfeeding. So far she has gone nearly 12 hours with only about 40mls of formula (Im doing 50/50 with breastmilk to get her used to it) but she just screams. I feel like Im just torturing my poor little girl and Im just desperate to feed her. Has anyone had any experience with this? Is there something else I could be missing in my diet that is causing this? I cant see how my child could be allergic/intolerant to my milk, its made for her 😞 Im feeling so low about this, I desperately want to breastfeed, and she is such a fantastic breastfeeder. I had to have a c-section with my little one and I felt a wee bit like my body failed me in that department but figured its ok as long as I can breastfeed but now I feel like a total failure. Any advice on getting her to take a bottle, what other foods I could eliminate, or other possible causes for this bleeding would be greatly appreciated, thanks so much xx
