Anyone in the auckland reigon heading out this weekend? the strong - TopicsExpress

Anyone in the auckland reigon heading out this weekend? the strong easterlies have flattened the swell on the west coast, but not for much longer, the winds going to change and the swell will jump back up, enough of a gap for a dawn raid tomorrow, but be careful as itll be back to its usual dangerous self by mid-day. the east coast has just taken a hammering but looks like the waves will settle down pretty quick, maybe a bit too soon to go safely rockhop near deep water, but surfcasting on the sand from anywhere from omaha to ruakaka would be well worth a look on sunday, all my best surf-caught snapper have been caught just as things are settling after a storm. not sure how the shallow water ledges from wenderholm to takapuna will look, its been alot of rain, could be like a cocolate milkshake which is no good, but if the water is more green-blue than brown get stuck in, the water last week was just too calm and clear in that area and most struggled to find fish, so a bit of a stir-up should help get them on the bite. Stay safe and tight lines, - Michael Jenkins (this is an example of post storm surfcasting from the north-eastern whitesand beaches (omaha to ruakaka)
