Anyone know anything about AdvancED?? or Mark Elgert?? This was sent home the first day of school. I went to take the survey, the site wouldnt load so I went to the homepage.. clicked on About Us and the first thing I see is We believe the world will find true global tolerance and peace through education. Lovely. advanc-ed.org/about-us I try not to make immediate judgments, so I look at the board members, do a quick search of the founding president and CEO, Mark Elgart. The bio I read says he is a national and international trainer and presenter on topics of accreditation, school improvement, leadership, and accountability in education. AdvancED is the parent organization of three regional organizations that evaluate schools and school systems across the US and 70 other countries. Great! Mark Elgart is also responsible for leading the development and implementation of next generation accreditation model. AdvancED is a leading business partner with the CCSSO. AdvancED in Mississippi Charlie Alexander, from DeSoto County Schools is a council member. ((If I am not mistaken, Charlie Alexander is another retired employee of DCS. He is currently listed on the DCS site staff with pupil services.)) advanc-ed.org/managing-office-locations/mississippi-office So, just another thing to be thrilled about in DeSoto County. Check the site above to see if anyone from your are is on council. I am not sure what it means yet for MS, but I will find out. Ill be calling them next week to find out.
