Anyone know how to throw hat into arena for town council ? Saw in paper all wards have running people for council...I would like to throw hat in for 1st ward ... Im a public servant in different county...Im not in favor of a PUBLIC SAFETY DIRECTOR being they usually dont know how FD operates..Im for graffiti getting cleaned via town or citizens (just give location & match surrounding paint color ) , want cars removed regardless during real accumlating snow fall, want cars ticketed if on alternate side street so if snow (plows can remove piles of snow,chairs etc so street opened for EMERGENCY TRAFFIC) & to keep citizens in routine of moving cars...I am for AGGRESIVE FIRE PREVENTION INSPECTIONS to target ROOMING HOUSES that are ILLEGAL (living in basements & attics ) trust me they are even in Affluent areas...I am against these 30 year tax abatements for developers ... WHERE ARE OUR ABATEMENTS ? ..School overcrowding , meanwhile closed Junior Middle school, now we need room for children .We have a Tributary of Passiac River Running thru town with new projects on its banks which has proven in recent years to flood ..Meanwhile these projects will come after TAXPAYERS to bail them out during floods..We have a AWESOME FIRE DEPARTMENT that had numbers cut by a former administrator who lived IN NYC PROTECTED BY MINUMUM OF 30 FF on an initial alarm of fire (3 engines , 2 trucks, 1 rescue , 1 fast trk ,safety batt, div chief )..meanwhile he wanted us protected by 3 engines & 1 trrk 1 deputy...we usually have 4 engines 1 trk 1 deputy.Look online , look in dept records at amount of fires & mutual aid fires we are going to & you will stand up to have staffing of 20 ffs that were on books few years ago....YOU CANNOT SAY , WELL WAIT FOR ANOTHER TOWN TO HELP ...Say that when your house is burning..Bet you will say wwhat took so long ? I witnessed first hand few years ago 4 doors down ,3rd floor fire during winter after huge snowfall (2010) 30 s ...Im also for having people who have fire hydrants in yard or by house to shovel out ,or have ADOPT A HYDRANT campaign so if you cant that it will be on a list that someone would be able to take care of...Also would see about funding to put MARKERS up to help locate fire hydrants even at night. Im also for having DPW be more proactive with pot holes, tree trimming (why call ) how about do street a day ? ..Thank you for reading .
