Anyone know of the 1930s film Alexander Nevsky? Try this final battle scene and learn that art is reinvented over and over (but not The Quest!). SETUP: The Germans are invading knights pillaging and murdering all in their path. Nevsky is a peasant leader and defeats the Germans. It was produced for Stalin to whip up anti-German sentiment in the USSR; after Stalin and Hitler signed their nonagression pact (how did they write with crossed fingers?), the director Eisenstein (who created the Germans ice bucket helmets) was demoted to producing a stage version of Das Neiblung or some such.
