Anyone know or think about rainwater collection systems in California? Preppers? Prep what? Water, dude. Its all about water. lexisnexis/legalnewsroom/top-emerging-trends/b/emerging-trends-law-blog/archive/2013/02/04/california-s-rainwater-recapture-act-lets-state-residents-capture-use-harvested-rainwater.aspx The problem is while people are preparing for the future, they forgot to focus on the present. The building codes associated with rainwater collection makes it somewhat cost prohibitive to your average Joe Schmoe, who want to hire a contractor to do it to code when nobody knows what the code is? And if I do it myself DIY out of non-plastics non-endocrine non-reproductive system damaging recycled redwood, I am in violation of the law. (Even though I want health and to setup a solar powered water distiller to have clean water.) Nice try, but this needs more focus and soon like bigtime because the California drought will predispose not only California, but our nation to higher food prices and limited natural resource production. All living things need living water, I guess someone just wants us to kill ourselves by killing the water with chlorines, chloramines and fluorides, which results in all nastiness. DBPs in water include trihalomethanes (Class B carcinogens) and lead. Yes lead. Yes we are all idiots.
