Anyone looking to clean up your credit by paying off your collections debt? I am a credit counselor & feeling generous right now so I am posting a settlement letter template for you. Normally, credit settlement doesnt help your credit, but if you follow these steps, you should have success (You can thank me later): 1. Get your free credit report by calling 877-322-8228 or annualcreditreport 2. Write a letter to each of your creditors offering to settle your debts (See below) 3. Make sure to include a stamped return enveloped with the letter. November 18, 2013 Company XXX Collection Department 123 Any St AnyPlace, NV 12345 To Whom It May Concern: I, ________________, will make an attempt via written coorespondence to settle my debt to (company). I hereby agree and offer to settle this debt (Acct #) in the sum of $$ ($0.25 cents on the dollar) and record, letter, and reporting to all three (3) credit reporting agencies, Transunion, Equifax, and Experian; and will be noted as paid as agreed with a zero balance reported to date of record with all agencies and creditors. A letter of agreement or a memorandum of understanding must be mailed to me as a show of good faith by creditor and as agreement of terms. After receipt of agreement, debt settlement will take place bringing debt to zero for the record and adhering to the Fair Credit Reporting Act and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
