I would love to take this course, "...on the undermining of the rule of law and expansion of the imperial presidency, including topics such as the war power, illegality of aggressive war, torture, indefinite detention without due process, the state secrets doctrine, other means the courts have used to avoid their role in checking abuses of executive power (e.g. the political question and ripeness doctrines and lack-of-standing rulings), the destruction of the system of checks and balances and separation of power, continuity of government planning (including the possible authority to suspend the constitution), the lack of government transparency, unprecedented spying on U.S. citizens (including journalists), presidential dictatorial emergency powers, and possible solutions for the restoration of the rule of law and our constitutional republic."
