Anyone on my friends list live near or have info about Bangor, Washington. I am looking at job prospects and the DOD/USN has several positions they have been trying to fill on base for over a year for reclamation geologists. Person has to be VRA eligible and TS eligible, all of which I am, also has to have GIS experience and course work in water sciences, and geology. I will have a Geology major and minors in GIS and Marine and Fresh water science when I graduate in 16 months. The application process can take up to a year so I am thinking about contacting them. Just wondering about what the area is like, commute times, schools, general info to decide if it is even worth pursuing. Starting pay range is 80-99K plus relocation and benefits package, and signing bonus, considering I meet all of their requirements I would be asking for 95-99K . I have job possibilities near Traverse City in the 70K range so I am not in too much of a hurry to look elsewhere, but to continue federal service, which would continue my retirement and seniority, is a definite plus.
