Anyone remember the disciple Bartholomew? Yea me neither. Not Much is said about this man in any of the gospels. He never had anything profound written in the bible at all. Although he wrote a gospel he never had it put in the bible like Luke or John. It seems that Bartholomew was the misfit the last guy picked. Even Judas had more recognition than this guy. Bartholomew seemed to be a nobody, the one that everyone overlooked. However Jesus chose this man to be one of His followers. We often feel that in our lives today we are misfits and nobodies. Based on the opinions of those around us we label are ourselves as unimportant parts of life. But the thing is God has chosen us. Tall, short, big, small, black, white, male, female, brown eyed, blue eyed HE HAS CALLED US. The next time you feel as if you are worthless think of Bartholomew and remember that Jesus chose him to pick up his cross. You are of high value to God. You are irreplaceable.
