Anyone running OS Mavericks on a Mac running into Running out of Application Memory warnings? I have a quad core i7 with 16 gigs of ram, youd think running an app, safari and mail wouldnt lock that up, but it does about every 3 hours for me. (Mac Pros, with 32 gigs of ram, are doing it in trouble shoot thread below too.) In fact, you can watch it happen, with Activity Monitor, select: MEMORY, and then youll note a new graph at the bottom of the page marked: Memory Pressure? And at startup, its just a green line on the bottom. Now try surfing the web, running mail and... Ill lock up in 3-4 hours. I just went to go check my memory usage, and I was using: 16 gigs of RAM, and 40 gigs of virtual memory, with about 20 tabs of safari, mail, and a photo editor open. The photo ed, was not in use. Think about that, 56 GIGS OF MEMORY for a browser, mail and Nikon View? Some, blame MAIL, and its hot links to calendar and gmail... But clearly Safari is taking insane amounts of ram, listing some webpages as eating 8 gigs. On the plus side, techs report Apple has found a sophisticated new way to manage memory! On the down side, people are trying to describe memory leaks, and to try and find a fix without too many command line patches. ______________ I just updated a week ago, and a week before that to Yo... Before the two updates, I was extremely stable and locked up once every few months? Now I lock up several times a day, or have to close down and re-open Safari. Anyone else? https://discussions.apple/thread/5471817
