Anyone showing any remote interest in the Aira series should really consider one of the less-obvious choices out of the lineup! The Roland Aira VT-3 Vocal Transformer is a simple, inexpensive little device that acts as a vocoder and effects processor. 1 combo-jack (XLR/TRS) input on the machine, and balanced outputs are a good start, but what Roland isnt advertising is that you can use the VT-3 as a fully-fledged audio interface! For the budget minded artist/producer, this is perfect. More-over, anyone wanting a MOBILE audio interface should check this thing out as itll operate at a 96k sample rate, and is 100% bus powered when operating in this mode. So lets add this up -- 1-In 2-Out Balanced Audio Interface USB Bus Powered 96k Sample Rates with a 5ms latency @ 256 sample buffer (I am unsure if it is 16-Bit or 24-Bit word lnegth) A compliment of Vocoder effects processing Pitch Shifting of incoming audio signals Formant Filtering Reverb Effect And all for just under $200! This is one kewl little box. roland/products/en/VT-3/
