Anyone that can offer advise on an insurance claim. I was driving to work and was rear ended by someone. I submitted a claim to their insurance with a single claim which came to just under R23 000.00. The insurance requested a 2nd quote which I got and that came in at just under R22 000.00. They then made an offer of R13 000.00. When I queried who is expected to pay the difference, they came back and said they thought the quotes were inflated and negotiated with the 2nd panel beater who gave them the quote of R13 000.00 and will now only repair and not replace the parts that were damaged. Needless to say I do not want repairs, I want my car to be in the same state it was before I was rear ended. I also do not trust the 2nd panel beater now! I have tried to troll the internet to find my rights as a consumer but have come up empty. Surely I can choose the company that I want to do the repairs and can not let Santam dictate to me??? Any advice or point of reference would be greatly appreciated
