Anyone that knows Matt Jackson KNOWS that the man is seriously a genius. I mean, the man scored one point from a perfect score on his ACT, rocked the PCAT, & graduated at the top. Hes the real deal. He is not one of these pharmacists who slid by on mediocre grades or got into pharmacy school because his daddy was friends with board members. The man knows tons on EVERY topic imaginable. If he says it, it is so. I have threatened repeatedly to send him on Jeopardy; it truly is humbling for me to watch that show with him by the way.... Yesterday, this PharmD-toting, genius of a businessman decided to check Averys (5thgrade) math...Mind you, as homeschoolers we do NOT follow Common Core, but his curriculum is up to date, if not more advanced, than public school criteria. He came into the room and said, I am gonna need you to check a few of these problems. After I finished rolling in laughter, I realized that he is so right. The whole education process has just gotten crazy. Just this morning, one of his math problems was 3N=36. We werent doing this until Algebra 1 at least in 7th grade or beyond. He also just finished writing a 1-3-1 essay. Again, not until probably 9th grade. WHAT are we trying to do to these poor kiddos???
