Anyone that knows me, knows that I have epiphanies (mainly in the shower). So this morning I am in the shower, and I am talking to God... actually, I am asking God “why” He will not give me the words to speak, before I actually get up to speak, (then I justified my request) so I can be prepared. He says, “Because I want you to trust Me.” I said, “Lord, I do trust you.” He said, “No, not always.” And then He began to bring various things to my mind that confirmed His assertion that I do not always trust and believe Him. And I said, “But God, those things were, and are, too fantastic for me to believe.” And then I said, “Why Lord, do You do these things for me?” (I know right… my pastor is having a conniption fit right now, if he’ is reading this). But wait Pastor… God said, “Because you are My son, I have given you the best robe, the ring, and the shoes” (Luke 15:22). Feeling impish and ashamed, I simply said, “Thank you.” So today… the day after the day that is specifically set aside to give thanks. I am thankful that I have been welcomed back as a son… and, more than a son, a king and a priest unto God (Rev 1:6, 5:10). I am also thankful that my God is a loving Father who puts up with a doubting son… like me.
