Anyone traveling to or from Parker via California Hwy 62 will be forced to make alternate plans. CALTRANS (California Dept of Transportation) has closed Hwy 62 from the AZ border (Parker) to Vidal Junction. Travel to Needles via US (CA) Hwy 95 from Vidal Junction to Needles is also restricted. This includes travel to the Chemehuevi Indian Reservation. The road closures are due to roadway damage from the monsoon floods of this previous week. Alternate routes include Mohave Road to/from Ehrenberg and Interstate 10 for those going to or coming from Southern California. AZ Highway 95 through Lake Havasu City to Interstate 40 for anyone going through Needles. The Chemehuevi Ferry from Lake Havasu City to the Reservation is running for those needing to go there. CALTRANS does not have an estimate on when those roads may be reopened. There are no current restrictions on Arizona Highways in, or leading to or from La Paz County.
