Anyone who has been involved in environmental pollution issues in Colorado (such as Cotter in Canon City, and many others) knows that our regulators do not take a protective approach when in comes to public health. This will only change when enough people are elected to state and federal office who want to protect people and prevent pollution that causes illness, even death. The oil and gas industry may learn the hard way that they can pollute rural Colorado for a very long time, but when they stir up a critical mass of people who say "NO" in the heavily populated areas of the Front Range, the political tide might change.
