Anyone who has ever been incarcerated is familiar with the term serving time or doing time. Thats what prison life is about .. marking off the days until youre set free. Well .. when we realize that were imprisoned (embodied) in the material world .. restricted by the limitations of the physical body, time and space and struggling with the three modes and threefold miseries ... then the word freedom takes on a much broader meaning. Sometimes I wonder about the stories people who have near death experiences tell. Often they describe a brilliant white light leading them down a corridor. I wonder if its just the well lit hallway that leads to the room where the parole board meets.
