Anyone who has ever caught a five year old doing something he knows is wrong knows what to expect; denial (“I didn’t do it”), projection (“you made me do it”) and, when all else fails, petulance, name calling and egotistical ranting. Mind-numbing deceit fortifies every stage. Infant miscreants seldom get away with it. Yet, when Democrat reprobates achieve office and their lackeys in the media indulge in the same dishonest and willful behavior, the nation accepts every falsity, wringing its hands and moaning. Recent news stories exemplify how America enables overblown, megalomaniacal bullies in government to hijack the narrative and hold an entire nation hostage to its demands. FOX News asked, Wednesday: “Is the Obama administration employing a make-it-hurt strategy to gain political leverage in the budget battle on Capitol Hill?” Presumably, this was a serious inquiry. After 5 years of a ruinous presidency FOX still queried whether The Lyin’ King and his regime are damaging the nation deliberately. Let’s presume the question is serious. On Wednesday, The Washington Examiner offered FOX enlightenment in the following headline: “Shutdown overreach: More personnel sent to WWII memorial than Benghazi; Park Service closes park it doesn’t run.” Sure sounds deliberate. Harry Reid kept the ball rolling with a typically, over-the-top, Orwellian whopper, made after he’d turned down yet another House bill intended to partially fund the government: “On the same day that Democrats in Congress delivered quality, affordable health insurance to tens of millions more Americans, Republicans in Congress delivered the nation a government shutdown…And thanks to the Republican government shutdown, 200 sick patients – including 30 children – were turned away from a National Institutes of Health clinic that offers life-saving new treatments. Most of the children turned away are suffering from various forms of cancer.” He accused “modern day Anarchists in the House” of “dancing with glee over the shut down.” But even Dana Bash of CNN wasn’t buying that hooey: “You all talked about children with cancer unable to go to clinical trials. The House is presumably going to pass a bill that funds at least the NIH. Given what you’ve said, will you at least pass that? And if not, aren’t you playing the same political games that Republicans are… if you can help one child who has cancer, why wouldn’t you do it? ” Reid, jettisoning accusations he’d leveled at Republicans moments earlier, answered her: “Why would we want to do that? I have 1,100 people at Nellis Air Force base that are sitting home. They have a few problems of their own. This is — to have someone of your intelligence to suggest such a thing maybe means you’re irresponsible and reckless …” The outright lies in Reid’s statement beggar count. Despite Reid’s contempt for us we are expected to believe him. In case anyone is paying attention, it is the Democrat bully pulpit preventing government funding. The House simply excised Obamacare from an otherwise fully funded Federal budget. But Democrats and their enablers want Obamacare, despite the will of the people. Democrats want it visited on you, that is, not them. The ruling class voted, overwhelmingly, to exempt themselves from the Obamacare yoke.
