Anyone who is following my news feed knows that I have been harsh on militant Muslims and think that Islam has a greatly higher percentage of fellow Muslims who support at least some of the violent actions of the militants than any other religion presently, including Christianity, does. That said, please allow me to present some Christian history of which I think most of you are not aware. Toward the end of the Dark Ages, Charlemagne was crowned the first Holy Roman Emperor. He spread Christianity across Europe by ravaging virtually every population and immediately murdering ALL people who did not convert to Christianity (ref: History Channel series on the Dark Ages). Sound familiar? Now, what really is the difference between Christianity and Islam today? Easy answer: one has been at least partially attenuated by the Enlightenment and science.
