Anyone who really knows me, knows that a MAJOR fascination of my intellectual life is with Artists -- primarily with Writers and Musicians -- and therefore even more especially with Songwriters. I love the entirely open way that such folk express themselves WITHOUT self-consciousness when talking about their love and appreciation for admirable qualities they see in others. For example, there follows a link to a YouTube discussion from John Prine, Arlo Guthrie, Kris Kristofferson, and others, for their appreciation for good friend Steve Goodman from Chicago, a wonderful songwriter probably most famous for the American CLASSIC train song, THE CITY OF NEW ORLEANS, first recorded in, what, 1971, by Arlo Guthrie. Goodman and Prine collaborated on Coes #1 Country Hit, YOU NEVER EVEN CALLED ME BY MY NAME. Goodman -- for a good part of his career, was DYING of leukemia (diagnosed in his college days - he died at age 36 in September 1984). YET, you can hear testaments from his friends -- who absolutely LOVED him -- about his PASSION for Life up to the end!!! Just LISTEN to it! GOD BLESS US ALL!!! https://youtube/watch?v=yZx7xCK6yfo
