Anyone who travels often by airplane knows about the hidden city hack...its not illegal but if I recall correctly it does violate the agreement a traveler makes when they buy their ticket. In light of 9/11, I can see Airlines public safety concern about knowing where passengers are in their system. I think the Airlines and the 22-year-old are both at fault. United and Orbitz (or any other company who sells travel) should figure out how to close any loops that prevent them from keeping track of their customers, for the sake of public and customer safety, and the 22-year-old hacker should pay a consequence for not reading, or not caring about, the ticketing agreement. Just sayin...
