Anyone with an M42 swap: I have a NASCAR-like commute every morning where the traffic sometimes moves upwards of 80MPH (this I do in my pickup truck with no problem, obviously). Im wondering what it would take to achieve that pace comfortably for extended periods with a 2002? Short, passing bursts-only isnt worth the trouble of doing a swap. Id like an 80-90 MPH @ +/-3000 RPM cruise speed with a little more room above that. I have suspension and brake upgrades which should handle the extra stress of at least a stock M42 and 5-speed trans. Is this a reasonable expectation? The only M42 Ive driven was in a 1st gen Z3 back in the day and I wasnt impressed.
