Anything Goes has long been the rule of the road in the Big - TopicsExpress

Anything Goes has long been the rule of the road in the Big Brother house. For me, the thing that bugs me about Derrick is that his game begs the stereotypes we have against the police - they enforce the law but bend it for their own purposes, hiding behind the thin blue line. Now, I make it a point at the start of the season to disassociate the HG from their lives outside the house. I dont pay attention to the bios or the pre-show interviews. These guys are naive going into the house and so are their interviews. I judge the HG based on their actions in the game and so far, Derricks strategy has been nearly impeccable. There is no reason to believe that his game is any reflection on how he behaves as a cop. I give him all the credit in the world dealing with the worst of society, putting his life at risk for our safety and tyring to make his community a better place to live for his family and our own. I have also thought about comparing to other manipulators throughout the seasons. Evel Dick verbally abused and mentally beat his fellow housemates into submission. Maggie was a clult-leader who created an atmosphere of hate to ensure her followers stayed in line lest they stray and turn on her. Instead, I started comparing Derrick to some of the greats weve seen. Dr. Will from Season 2 who understood the new format from the start and used it to his advantage to walk over the competition who just couldnt bring themselves to believe he was actually doing it. Drew who was seen as the weak member of his alliance but outsmarted them and his showmance to earn the win. BB Dan who could smooth talk anyone into anything with a smile and a prank. Even Ian who wrote out a game strategy on a napkin before entering the house and then followed it to the letter. Derrick has simply played a brilliant game. Is it fair that his background as an undercover police officer prepared him for this role? No more or less than Frankies role as a YouTube personality. So if you think Frankies being in the house was unfair casting, you have to say the same about Derrick. Derrick is as close a thing as BB has come to casting a ringer and its been entertaining and agonizing to watch him work. Not just on his fellow housemates but on you guys as well. You actually believe Caleb did the best thing for his game by nominating Frankie. That wasnt his idea, that was Derricks game move. Your idea if Caleb making a big move was for him to do someone elses bidding. Am I the only one who sees the irony in that? Blinded by your hate for Frankie, youre deluding yourselves to thinking Caleb made a big move for his game when in fact he most likely blew any chance he had for Final 3 by evicting his only ally in the house. My goal at the start of the season is to be entertained, because if Im entertained, I have a good feeling my updates will be entertaining as well. I dont know if this Final 4 or any Final 3 that comes from it will be as entertaining without Frankie in it. Right now, my hope is that Caleb wins Veto and evicts Victoria, forcing the 3 guys to go for each others throat. Maybe then the real Derrick will have to struggle for his game. Talk about a floater!
