Anything I wanted, I took. I did not restrain myself from any joy. - TopicsExpress

Anything I wanted, I took. I did not restrain myself from any joy. I even found great pleasure in hard work, an additional reward for all my labors. (Ecclesiastes 2:10) Our society is like Solomon, we work to acquire possessions in the hope that that will bring us joy. And don’t get me wrong; having nice things, having “toys”, is enjoyable. But if you’re depending on these things to bring you joy and satisfaction, you’ll be very disappointed. Only one thing will bring the peace of everlasting joy - no matter how many possessions you own, or how poor you are, only a relationship with your creator will fill the void deep in your heart. Listen to what the richest king ever had to say about all his possessions: But as I looked at everything I had worked so hard to accomplish, it was all so meaningless. It was like chasing the wind. There was nothing really worthwhile anywhere. (vs. 11)
