Anytime someone attempts to take an objective look at racism in this country, the person is immediately attacked by racism promoters. A racism promoter, whether black or white, wants to assure the races of this country that extreme schisms between white and black still exist. Their livelihood depends on class warfare being household words in America. Eliminate the perception of racism, and the racism promoters might have to work for a living and give up their precious national stage. African-Americans like Rev. Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson, Jr. have a vested interest in fanning the flames of racism. These two people, especially Rev. Sharpton, and other religious charlatans refuse to admit substantive progress has been achieved in eliminating racism in the United States. Is there more to be done? Absolutely. But now is the time for moderate and responsible voices from the African-American community to be heard. I personally don’t believe individuals like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton speak for the majority of the African-American community; at least not the African-Americans I know. These two men are self-appointed leaders supported by the national media of the United States. The African-American community can do better.
