“Anytime you see a turtle on top of a fence post, you know he had some help.” - Alex Haley All day today I have pondered that movie I mentioned in last nights message. The Little Red Wagon. While I commend Zack Bonner the young boy who CHOSE to do something about homeless children, I see the whole picture. He could not do it alone. He needed help,he asked for it and got tremendous responses. Each person who made a donation, provided moral support, walked a block or two with Zack, media that provided the publicity, or all the folks putting together the backpacks, or anything else, not a one of them would have made a difference alone, by themselves, on their own. The same for Zack. He alone could not have made a difference. BUT he had compassion which spurred his idea, fueling his determination, which inspired others into action . . . well just look at what is now being accomplished in The Little Red Wagon Foundation. Zack never lacked self confidence. But many of us do. Anytime you suffer from that down and out feeling, like you are not noticed, or no one cares, or that you are not worthy enough, or you cant make a difference, just think of Zack. Then realize that so often we are our worst critic, and our own worst enemy. Put your thoughts, feelings, and beliefs about yourself aside and know that others think more highly of you than you do yourself. And then keep this thought close to your heart for reinforcement. It is said that a man, is able to accomplish more by having someone who believes in him, more than he believes in himself. (paraphrased, and the same goes for women and children) - Then get up and do something, anything, because I know you can. - Carol Arnold
