Apollo and Daphne was originally choreographed in Louisville back in 2011 on two, incredible artists - Erica De la O and Douglas Ruiz. The creation process with Erica De la O and Douglas was one of the most fulfilling experiences I have ever had in the studio, and it was the first time I had ever felt truly confident in the work I was creating. I restaged it in Louisville the following season, again with some great dancers and friends, and just recently had the opportunity to reinvent the pas de deux once more, this time in San Francisco with Erica Felsch and Weston Krukow. The latest reincarnation of Apollo and Daphne exceeded all of my expectations, breathing new life into a work that I treasure very close to my heart. I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to Erica Felsch and Weston Krukow for helping me rediscover the potential of this work, and for dedicating so much of themselves to its success.
