Apologies for a later-than-usual post on Wednesday evening, but Im still enjoying the nerd-gasm that is the new Avengers 2 trailer (youtu.be/tmeOjFno6Do). Ill take a short break before watching that for the umpteenth time and try to send some big thanks for a wonderful evening that was West Coast Wednesdays with a hint of New Orleans thrown in. - Firstly, to Alexander (Alex) and Brittney, thank you for the lessons. Great explanation of the basics. Great intermediate class to build on west coast swing foundations. And a great duo. In my less than humble opinion, youd make a great teaching duo if you didnt have that slight distance between Chicago and New Orleans to deal with. Good luck to you both this weekend at Swing City Chicago (SCC). - Secondly, to West Coast Wednesdays (WCW) house DJ, April Prince. Sam Cookes Movin and Groovin could have been the unofficial theme. Song after song kept the place hopin and the floor busy all evening. Nicely done. - Then, we have the minions (though without the overalls or yellow skin) in Rodney and Brian, who helped with the physical labor that goes into getting the dance ready and in closing shop. - We also have love and support from all over including Central Illinois Nicole, Frank, and a group of new faces), one of our rising star competitive couples this weekend Allison and Brian), the Southern side of the Chicago area Lynzi, Tanya, Belle, and H, among others), new-to-the-area residents (Shelby) and more. - And finally, to everyone that is the Chicago nucleus that makes up this huge, wonderful, dance family. Thanks for sharing in the evening, and for taking part in the group picture: Carmen, Rosa, Anna, Oana, Jeff, Mary Sue, Laura, Jen, Roxanne, Jeff, Kelly, Angela, Kathy, Dennis, Tara, Tony, Nadia, Barbara, Raymond, Gina, Diane, Vita, Vince, Cynthia, Michael M., Wayne, Michael T., Rose, Matt, Pamela, Christine, Jes, Diann, Julie, Benny, Nicole, Tim, Layton, Dale, Julie, Clayton, Larry, Kristy, Julie K., Beverly, Richard, Ed, Jason, and the rest of the cast and crew that came out to party before the big dance weekend. As for me, Im back to watching that trailer. Umpteen times isnt enough so I have to watch it a handful more before I head out to DJ the early bird dance tonight at SCC.
