Apologies for the somewhat delirious posts of early this morning. I suppose I got carried away in all the excitement about LeBron and the bridge blowing up. Anyway, Im still wondering if folks have any ideas about what the “It’s a Sin” page and the Coalition Against the Sin Tax should become going forward. It would be great if we could better harness the positive energy behind the opposition campaign. It seems to make sense to change the name of these groups (Make Cleveland Stronger? Clevelanders for Transparency and Fairness? Clevelanders for Transparent and Accountable Government? Fair Government Cuyahoga?). I suppose all we really need as an organizing principle for now is that we’re a group of folks who either 1) believe that Cuyahoga County could have done better by way of transparency and fairness with respect to the 2014 Sin Tax ballot measure (Issue 7), and/or 2) believe that it’s a good idea to follow or be a member of a facebook group organized around this general principle. Also, I still like the idea of having July 11 declared (or at least celebrated as) “Forgiveness Day” in Northeast Ohio. Id like to think that LeBrons return really can be bigger than basketball, as he said.
