Apologies to everyone who managed to get to Fierce Ange @ The Viper Rooms in Sheffield to see us last night. We all know what happened weather wise but heres the full story from our side. We knew it was going to be rough so we set out with 4 and a half hours to do a 1 hour journey. With both direct roads from Manchester to Sheffield closed we went via Leeds on the M62/M1, finally getting to the venue at 12.50am to find the night had been pulled. This was hugely disappointing after such a trip to get there and the fact it was set to be a great gig. We turned around and 6 hours after setting off we got safely home. This is no reflection on either The Venue or Fierce Angel. I do however think the entire thing could and should have been avoided though. The roads in West and South Yorkshire were nothing short of a disgrace. The knew it was coming, yet roads were left totally un gritted and snow ploughs came out way too late. I can only imagine the the relevant local authorities decided the their Xmas overtime budgets were more important than the lives and safety of the few people on the roads last night. Hang your heads in shame!
