Apostasy New England style: Two of the most compelling franchises in baseball on display tonight are why I am a National League supporter. Two things middle infielders like Dave Bohman and I know: pitching, defense and moving the line win games: the long ball puts folks in the seats, but not wins in the win column. Fans like solo homeruns: otherwise they are less useful than a two run single after two singles and a sac bunt .... and my Puritan forebearers would disapprove of anything fanatic.
