Apparently Connecticut Republican State Senator Jason Welch hasnt - TopicsExpress

Apparently Connecticut Republican State Senator Jason Welch hasnt read the U.S. Constitution or the Connecticut Constitution since he is pushing unconstitutional Obamacare and given the fact Obamacare on its face is unconstitutional since regulating healthcare is not an enumerated power granted to the Legislative branch in Article I Section VIII of the U.S. Constitution. It is therefore a power reserved to the states or to the people per the 10th Amendment. Another example of Socialist Republicrats(Republicans and Democrats) under the cloak as a Republican advocating the evisceration of the U.S. Constitution to usurp the people’s Constitutional Rights thereby illustrating there is no difference ideologically between Republican and Democrat. They have no regard for the U.S. Constitution. The people are not bound to comply with an unconstitutional act of government. The people are bound to defend the Constitution by not complying. Below is an email I received from him yesterday evening: Health Insurance Deadlines: What You Need to Know The deadline to get health insurance is fast approaching! Under the Affordable Care Act, you must have employer sponsored healthcare, Medicare or purchase health insurance by Monday, March 31. While many people, including me, are frustrated with Access Health CT and implementation of the Affordable Care Act, the law makes it clear that you must secure insurance before the deadline to avoid a federal penalty fee. Below are some important Frequently Asked Questions with answers provided by Access Health CT. When do I need to have coverage to avoid a tax penalty? As long as you sign up for health care coverage by March 31, 2014, you will avoid a federal tax penalty. What are the tax penalties for individuals and how will they be assessed? If you havent signed up for coverage (or received an exemption from coverage) by March 31, 2014, you will be assessed a tax penalty. For each month of 2014 that you do not have coverage, you will be assessed a penalty equivalent to 1/12 of the yearly penalty. The federal government has set the following yearly tax penalties for individuals who do not have coverage: For 2014, 1% of your gross household income over the federal income tax filing threshold, or $95 per individual – whichever is greater. What are the tax penalties for small businesses that do not sign up for health care coverage? If you are a business owner with fewer than 50 full-time-equivalent (FTE) employees, you will not have to pay a penalty if you do not provide insurance to your employees. If you have 50 or more FTE employees and do not provide insurance to your employees, or the coverage you offer doesnt meet certain minimum standards, you may be subject to penalties beginning in 2015. All above information is provided by Access Health CT: learn.accesshealthct/faqs/ If you have any questions or concerns about the Affordable Care Act and insurance mandates please let me know. While the system is flawed, I am committed to making sure the people of Connecticut get the insurance they deserve.
